This is a taste of some of what we’ve been up to the last few days. Elijah got Snap Circuits Jr. for Christmas. It’s a set that has instructions and descriptions of 101 circuits to build/play with. So far we’ve built an electronic motor, flying saucer, and a sound activated music box. We happened to have The Magic School Bus and the Electric Field Trip which was a great supplement to figuring out the basics of electricity.
Elijah plays with the flying saucer circuit.
Santa brought Blokus 3D. It’s like hands-on Tetris! My grasp of spatial relationships has quickly been surpassed by both of my children. I’d like to say I’m letting them win….
Santa also brought this super-cool fort building set. What could be more fun than planning and constructing one’s own fort and then playing in it?! It consists of balls and connecting rods. The balls are such that just about any angle can be created. Then add sheets from the linen closet and you’ve got a structure!
Before this we had a two-room fort- a bedroom and reading room as planned by the kids. This one was built mostly for height with a tunnel leading to the entrance.
Sadie has been sculpting with clay. She was delighted to find that she could paint her sculptures once they dried.
