Chris recently formed a team for the men’s basketball league at the local rec. center. This is a very competitive league as the caliber of players in this area, even for pick-up games, is quite high (i.e. most have played college ball, a few have been drafted to NBA teams, a few spent some time playing in Europe). Chris has always been a scrambler, high rebound and assist percentage, ball mover extraordinaire, nice lay-up, all out for loose balls but a little uneasy about putting himself out there looking for teammates. When he opened his mouth, a line formed. The Rec’n Crew is a force to be rec’nd with. Only playing together as a team during games doesn’t seem to have affected their ability to work like a fine-tuned machine. Their first game went down in the win column with a 30+ point discrepancy. Last night’s game (against a very stacked team that hasn’t lost a single game and won every championship in the last several years) was a close loss that could’ve been prevented with a little bit of meditation on the part of the Crew. The flaring of their tempers at some questionable officiating gave the other team the 8 points in technical free throws that they needed to win the game. The good news- they’ll get ’em next time. And it was an awesome game!
Sadie and Lijey sit courtside for their Daddy’s games. A discussion about some poor phrasing choices on Daddy’s part that landed a player on the opposite team shooting technicals = priceless.

ROFL!!! I’m so glad we’re not the only ones with a daddy who occasionally uses “poor phrasing choices”. As for the next game: go get ’em, Quick C! 😀

Yea, Chris!! How awesome that he has something like this!
Parents & “poor phrasing choices” — gosh, I have NO idea what you mean! 🙂
