Santa Barbara Zoo

17 May

Though the elephants are ‘stinky’, we found the Santa Barbara Zoo to be relaxing, interesting, and attainable. We were able to wander without crowds and see all of the animals without exhaustion or time pressure. There are even a few species that the Ft. Worth Zoo doesn’t have (i.e. capybara, anteater).

We happened by the penguin exhibit (which is now rivaling the flamingos for top spot on Elijah’s list) while this little lady was doing a photo shoot. She is a 9 pound Humboldt Penguin who waddled back into the exhibit area after we got a close up view.

Sadie takes Baby Emma’s picture. Several years ago (before children), Chris had his picture taken here- sentimental value. Now Emma is part of this same family tree šŸ™‚

Wow – I had no idea you could hold a penguin like that. I wonder what penguin-feet feel like. This is a topic worthy of extensive investigation! šŸ™‚
