LEAP went hiking around Lake Grapevine on a beautiful morning. It was so relaxing and fun. The kids had a blast running, playing, and exploring. Every now and then we stepped into the brush so a mountain biker or runner could pass. What a lovely way to spend a lovely Texas day.
Sadie ventures ahead.
Elijah navigates some tough terrain on the heels of the ‘big boys’.
Rachel, Kadence, Sadie, and Kaili use rocks to draw on big rocks as we wait for the others to catch up.
Rest break! The kids found a little trail down through the woods toward the lake. It was treacherous but we made it.
Look what we found! It was fun exploring this mucky space next to the water. The heron and egret that we had seen from afar at the beginning of the hike are clearly frequenters of this space:
Their tracks were EVERYWHERE.
Note to self: must hike more.

That was an awesome hike! If the kids had of liked it I could see us doing that WAY more often!
