Sadie’s measuring in at 35th percentile (AKA- short) and her blood pressure is quite fabulous. The office staff was also wowed with her eye-chart reading and ABC song. Overall- a perfect well check-up for a 3 year-old.

Sadie makes Margherita pizza with the recipe found in the book- Pizza for the Queen. The pizza is made with diced tomatoes, freshly sliced mozzarella, and italian parsley (we used this in lieu of basil leaves) to represent the colors of the Italian flag.

Check out the first get together of the Texas chapter of LEAP- Learn, Explore, Adventure, and Play! Though a few could not make it, the LEAP pool party was a raucous good time filled with fun, laughter, and great conversation (for all ages).

Here we are at Let’s Jump- a bouncy house/everything facility here in Keller. Sadie’s face says it all in this picture. She was on everything with no fear from the moment of arrival.

Elijah took a little longer to warm up. Notice him on his tiptoes trying to check out how much room he’d have at the top were he to decide to go up. He didn’t- see retreat photo. Too funny. He did end up going on the big slides with daredevil Sadie but would slide down backward on his tummy so he couldn’t see how fast he was going. ;)

Tony Hawk

It’s true. Skateboarding doesn’t seem like real work, but I’m proud of what I do. My parents never once questioned the practicality behind my passion, even when I had to scrape together gas money and regarded dinner at Taco Bell as a big night out.

You might not make it to the top, but if you are doing what you love, there is much more happiness there than being rich or famous.

Elijah and Dr. McAnthony after his first clean bill of health at the dentist.

You’d think he’d been a million times with how still and patient he was with the process.

Of course it helped that they were playing Cars (movie) on all the televisions…. Pediatric dentists are the best!

Check out this project! The kids are painting the back door to the house in this colorful collage. They actually interrupted their swimming for it- as you can see by their attire. They had so much fun that they hosed it off and started again!

Elijah has been very involved in LuLu’s training and considers himself to be something of a little dog whisperer (we watch the show together fairly regularly). Here they are going for a run to the playground.

Monster Truck Madness August 23, 2007

This story starts with 4 monster trucks that Elijah got on his shopping trip with Grammy (see previous post). After playing with them nonstop, Mama pulls out the paints and decals that they came with and the fun begins all over again. Elijah painted and detailed 3 that you see here very early in the morning. Then Sadie awakes- very much wanting to decorate her very own monster truck. Turns out that 4th monster truck is the runt that Elijah has left to die- soon after its homecoming, part of the roll cage on the front snapped off and is ungluable. Sadie was psyched and Elijah (for once) was happy to share!
