Menagerie June 15, 2007

One more change has been added to our recent list. In agreeing to foster a dog and cat in between homes, we fell in love with LuluBelle (dog) and Sawyer (cat) and they are making their permanent stop here (this would be why we can’t foster children- we’d need a much bigger house). Elijah has been begging for a cat for a very long time and Sawyer is just the guy. He’s very relaxed and social without being obnoxious. He holds his own with the kids and the dogs. Lulu is a very large puppy who has no idea how large she is- she’s all dog which is strange for a family used to having dogs who think they’re humans.

Personal Paradise June 7, 2007

Hanging out by the pool is a daily activity and the kids just can’t get enough. Once water-timid Elijah now jumps in off the side holding one hand with Mama and is now working on swimming back to the side (it helps that the pool is 86 degrees…). Sadie does the same but submerges her little fishy head as she jumps and wiggles back. The spa is only hot when turned on so the kids use it as a mini-pool to mix it up.

Elijah loves playing in the sprayers at the edge of the pool. The spa overflows into the pool creating a lovely waterfall.

Beautifying the Backyard June 7, 2007

Elijah is proud and excited to get up on the ladder and help to hang our ‘Bloom and Grow’ sign on the shed. He proceeded to go up and down several more times to master it.

Sadie and Elijah fill the bird feeder as we start setting up the backyard in Parent fashion.

We Welcome the Sox to Texas! June 7, 2007

Chris and I were given tickets to Arlington Stadium- about 20 minutes from our home- to see the Red Sox whoop the Rangers! Our seats were just up from 3rd base in this gorgeous stadium and it was so much fun to see our home team in our new home! Despite the rain in the 9th, we had a great time!!!

Elijah demonstrates and discusses centrifugal force as it relates to his new car racing track. He and Daddy build new tracks all the time leading to talks of why the cars don’t fall on the loops.

Packing and packing. These days included lots of dress-up (the last stuff left out and not packed), drawing with chalk, and visits to playplaces as we were getting sporadic and heavy thunderstorms.
