Playgroup spent a good deal of time romping about outside today. It was more brisk than yesterday with just enough mud to make it fun! The Dohertys’ have a dirt pile in their yard that’s better than a playground!

What a gorgeous spring day we had on Tuesday. The kids spent the morning at Bryar and Finn’s so that I could get some packing done. Then we spent the afternoon playing outside.

Elijah helped me clean up a winter’s worth of Winky poop hiding under the snow.

Sadie shoveled her heart out endlessly.

Both kids enjoy wandering the great wilderness we fondly call the sideyard.

Learning about the signs that spring is coming at the Massabesic Audobon Center, Elijah and Sadie practiced bird calls, ‘flew south’ and discovered the obstacles that migratory birds encounter on their way back north. Elijah is pictured here coming out of a long winter’s hibernation.

We topped off the day at the McDonald’s Playplace with some of our friends. Tons of kids, noise, and climbing. Not much better than that!

The Bedford Town Hall was a great place to have a spring party on a beautiful spring-like day! There was dancing, face painting (hand painting in Elijah’s case), drawing, running, musical chairs and more! We made mosaic coasters that came out beautifully and are actually quite useful. As you can see, the whole thing was fun- but quite exhausting.

Elijah’s surgery March 25, 2007

Elijah had a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy/ear tube placement on Friday (yesterday). I have no pictures- it just didn’t seem appropriate ;) . He’s doing absolutely amazing and putting his Mama to shame who was doped up on vicodin for weeks after a similar procedure (I was 26- give me a break…). You wouldn’t even know he’d had a procedure today- 24 hours later. He ate like a horse yesterday (after the nurse said he might not even want to sip anything!) and is extremely disgruntled with the softer-side food diet to which he is restricted (although nothing too big will go down). None of the options sound appealing after they’ve been reeled off for every snack and mealtime. We’re keeping him down for the sake of the healing process but it’s very much against his will.

Happy 3rd birthday to our friend Bryar! Sadie had a fabulous time at her gymnastics birthday party at the Goffstown YMCA (great facility BTW). She was quite exhausted after all the activity!

Or was it baked half- the other half is in our tummies!

Sadie and Bryar make maple oat cookies with Steph’s assistance. Sadie didn’t find these cookies quite so interesting as there was no brown (read: chocolate) in them.

Creative- making birthday cards for cousin Emily and friend Bryar, Lijey uses stamps and stencils to create.

Analytical- creating water displacement after reading about a monstrous machine that uses earth from harbors to create islands/additional land mass to displace water so that large ships can pass through more shallow areas.

Helpful- vacuuming everything within reach of the cord and doing a terrific job!

Beautiful- ’nuff said.
